Yeah, they label him as a golem... So what? And in their words: "the ultimate in ...mechanized party protection."
A mechanical being by any other name (to me) is a robot! And that's just wrong! I was soooo disappointed by this whole element on EotN. It just doesn't fit the fantasy genre...
I can get behind the D&D style of golems. Stone golems, flesh golems... Those are obvious and patently magical. But mechanical? And the way they talk?! We might as well have "magic" lasers...
They may be sellin' it, but I'm not buyin' it!

Sounds like those of you having trouble with melee heroes rushing to attack targets you don't want might want to try setting them to Guard status rather than the default Attack status they start out on. I always keep my melee heroes (every hero, actually, except for monks, who are on Avoid) on Guard and I've never had trouble with them running off on their own. And for those mentioning having trouble keeping them on a target, might want to try using the Lock Target feature of your hero's control panel. I'm not trying to be smart or anything, I just thought I'd point it out. It's easy to miss if you don't use the panels much.

I was just wondering, is there anyone who actually uses the 'Fight' option over the 'Guard' option? In my opinion it just makes heroes run off head first, monk last, into non-aggrod mobs to gather as much aggro as possible.

Reguarding "Guard" vs "Attack" status, and random aggroing toons. I always have my heroes on Guard (with the monks on Passive), and I've often pondered what makes Zhed so rambo.
- I don't put touch/area-of-caster skills on him.
- Is it his size?
- Is it his positioning in the team (when heroes cluster around you, he always seems to go to the front?
- Did the devs program him to be all rambo for gits and shiggles? I find the same happens with Gwen and Koss occasionally too. Are they aggro because that's the hot headed nature of their story/character/lore?

Never use: All melee heroes W, D, A.
Sometimes use: R, P, Rt, E.
Often use: Mo, Me, N.

Zenmai, Norgu, Goren, General Morgahn, Razah, Kahmu, Anton, Hayda, Mox and Pyre are rarely used by me.
Used most often are my monks, necros and Xandra.

I never use...
the sins. Never unlocked enough skills to make them worthwhile. I've deleted several sins after deciding I just didn't like their game...or mine.
the warriors and dervs. In PvE, do we really need them? In H+H vanquishes, its not like they control aggro. There's crap in the backline from the first second.
Sousuke. Ogden. Livia. Olias. Hardly ever see the light of day.
When I do add heroes, I usually look in this order:
Tahlkora (prot)
Whispers (minions)
Zhed the obnoxious horse (warder/earth damage)
Vekk (Fire/air)
Gwen (interrupts and shutdown)
Morghan (the usual para stuff)
I can't sing gwen and Zhed's praises enough, and he,s not the aggro monkey. For some dumb reason, DUNKORO has been leeroying across the map recently.

You mean 'ray of death' or 'magic missile'
Anyhow fantasy genre (which includes star wars and star trek according to some people btw.) is supposed to be about well, fastasy.
Not about following pseudo-middle-ages cliches as closely as possible
